Reborn are a relatively new band to the Irish metal scene, formed in late 2007 the band have been gigging a fair bit since then. As this EP is the first offering from the mayo 4 piece one would come to not expect much,
Well, after 10 seconds into “Patriot” I believe you’ll change your mind.
The EP opens with a track aptly named “Intro”, this track starts the EP off on quite a melancholic note, with a haunting clean guitar progression setting the stage for the songs to come and allowing for an eerie Metallica-esque lead melody to accompany it. Spare are a 4 piece thrash metal band hailing from Ennis. Over the course of the last 4 or so years the band have been carving out quite a reputation on the live circuit. However, do they have the songs to support their growing popularity?
In a word: Yes.
I am initially struck by the quality of the presentation on offer here. This is a band that have thought carefully about the layout and structure of this demo. The inlay is impressive, with full lyrics, band details and photos - a lesson for all aspiring young bands.

Although a very new band on the scene, Ennis metallers Neverfade are already making quite an impression. The band have already recorded their first track, have several more in production and have played in Dublin, Cork and Limerick. Not bad for a band that are in existing a matter of a few short months! Hailing from Cobh, Co Cork, Forbidden Son are a 4 piece Hard Rock/Heavy Metal outfit with a wealth of experience to their benefit. The band are certainly prolific with two previous releases (”Self Titled” -2006, and “The Balance of All Good and Evil” - 2007) already behind them. This latest release “Arise” features 4 tracks, one of which (”Sweetest of Sympathy”) has been featured on recent compilation that has seen a stateside and internet release. Not bad for a small unsigned band from the west of Ireland!
These two bands recently got together to play an awesome gig in the heart of cork city. Drawing fans from throughout Ireland, here is once again proof of the quality of Irish Metal.
Waylander, are a northern Ireland based band.

Full Shred’s 2007 album “W.I.P.”
Full Shred hail from Limerick, and are fast becoming a prominent member in the Irish music scene, with their brand of heavy, balls out metal. Touring the country from Galway to Tipperary, Full Shred are stopping at nothing to achieve what we can only describe as dreams.W.I.P. is a five track album Read the rest of this entry »
